Welcome Paint Lovers…
Jourdan @ The Little Yellow Barn submitted this dresser that I’m crushing on.
She started by sanding the piece lightly and applying a coat of primer. Then came the spray paint gun. Such a summer inspiration piece… I want to do a dresser like this!
Carrie @ Hooked on Decorating submitted her sewing cabinet.
She scored this cabinet for only $30.00 at an indoor garage sale. She set out to transform its tomato red color into something that would fit in more nicely with my decor. She decided to try out Behr Paint and Primer All In One in Gem Turquoise 500B-4 at 50% strength. She coated the cabinet with two coats of this paint after preparing the cabinet by a good cleaning and then a light sanding. After each coat of Behr paint she sanded with 400 grit sandpaper and made sure to remove the sanding dust with a tack cloth. She distressed the cabinet with 220 grit sandpaper, aged it with burnt umber craft paint mixed into glazing medium and then top coated it with three coats of General Finishes Satin Varnish. Beautifully done!
